Luna Aurora novel (Alpha Fenrir)

Aurora's heart sank as another wave of injured wolves was brought in. One of them, a young female, clutched a deep wound on her side, her breathing ragged. "We're losing her," Iris said, her voice steady despite the urgency.

Aurora knelt beside the wolf, her hands trembling as she applied pressure to the wound. "Stay with me," she whispered, her voice breaking.

The wolf's eyes fluttered, and for a moment, Aurora thought they were too late. But then, the wolf took a shuddering breath, her chest rising and falling weakly.

"You did it," Iris said, a rare note of approval in her voice.

Aurora didn't respond, her focus entirely on keeping the wolf stable.

The tide of the battle began to shift as reinforcements from the eastern packs arrived, their howls cutting through the chaos like a battle cry. Cassian's wolves rallied, their spirits lifted by the sight of allies joining the fight. Cassian turned his attention back to the Lycan, his strikes growing more precise as he worked to bring it down. With a final, powerful blow, he severed the creature's neck, its body collapsing to the ground with a heavy thud. "Push them back!" Cassian roared, his voice ringing with authority.

The combined forces of the pack and their reinforcements surged forward, driving Magnus's forces into retreat. The battlefield fell silent as the last of the attackers disappeared into the forest, leaving behind only the dead and the wounded. As the dust settled, Cassian returned to the camp, his body battered but his resolve unbroken. He found Aurora in the healer's quarters, her hands stained with blood as she worked tirelessly to tend to the injured.

"You're hurt," she said, her voice trembling as she looked up at him.

"It's nothing," Cassian replied, though his movements were slow and pained.

Aurora frowned but didn't argue. Instead, she reached for a clean cloth, gently cleaning the blood from his hands.

"You saved them," she said softly.

Cassian's gaze met hers, his expression heavy with grief. "Not all of them."

Aurora placed a hand on his arm, her touch light but grounding. "You did everything you could, Cassian. And you gave them a chance."

For a moment, they stood in silence, the weight of the battle pressing down on them both. But in Cassian's eyes, Aurora saw a flicker of hope-proof that even in the face of darkness, they could still find the strength to fight.noveldrama
