The camp hummed with quiet determination as the wolves worked to rebuild. Repairs to the northern perimeter began at first light, with warriors reinforcing the defenses and scouts keeping a sharp eye on the horizon. The scent of fresh earth mixed with the acrid tang of blood still lingering in the air.noveldrama

Aurora spent the morning with Iris in the healer's quarters, organizing supplies and tending to the injured. Though she had insisted on taking on more responsibility, Cassian had made it clear that her role in the pack was to support its survival from within. For now, that meant helping Iris and preparing for the next inevitable attack.

"Drink this," Aurora said, handing a steaming cup of tea to a young wolf with a bandaged arm. His face was pale, his eyes hollow from exhaustion.

He took the cup with trembling hands. "Thank you, Luna."

Aurora stiffened at the title, her heart skipping a beat. "I'm not "

"You're as good as," Iris interrupted, her tone brisk as she passed by with a tray of supplies.

Aurora swallowed hard, unsure how to respond. She had always seen herself as an outsider here, a guest at best, but the way the wolves looked at her-like she belonged-made her chest tighten with conflicting emotions.

By midday, Cassian called for a meeting in the war room. Aurora joined him and the other senior wolves, her presence a silent acknowledgment of her growing role in the pack.

"The scouts have confirmed that Magnus's forces are regrouping," Nathan reported, his tone grim. "They've pulled back beyond the mountain pass, but they're not retreating. This is a pause, not an end."

Cassian nodded, his jaw tightening. "He's testing us, seeing how far he can push before we break."

"We held him off this time," Gideon said. "But we lost too many. If he comes back with Lycans and siege weapons, we won't last."

Nathan leaned forward, his expression sharp. "Then we need to take the fight to him. Hit his supply lines, disrupt his forces before they can regroup."

Cassian's gaze swept over the map on the table. "It's a risk, but it might be our best chance."

Aurora hesitated, then spoke up. "What about the eastern reinforcements? Can we coordinate with them?"

Cassian glanced at her, his expression softening slightly. "They're still days away, but it's worth trying. If we can strike together, we'll have a better chance of success."

"Then let's do it," Nathan said firmly.

Cassian nodded, his resolve clear. "Nathan, take a team and hit Magnus's supply lines. I'll coordinate with the eastern packs and prepare for his next move. We don't give him time to recover."

As the meeting broke up, Aurora lingered by the map, her fingers tracing the marks that indicated Magnus's forces.

"You've got that look again," Cassian said, stepping beside her.

""What look?"

"The one that says you're about to do something reckless," he said, his tone teasing but his gaze serious.

Aurora smiled faintly, though her chest felt heavy. "I just... I wish there was more I could do. More I could contribute." Cassian reached out, his hand brushing lightly against hers. "You already are, Aurora. More than you realize." Her breath hitched at the warmth in his touch, but before she could respond, Nathan appeared in the doorway. "Cassian, the patrols are back. You'll want to hear this."

The patrols had found something troubling-tracks leading away from Magnus's main camp and toward a smaller, isolated outpost.

"Lycans," the scout reported, his voice trembling. "At least three of them. They're moving supplies to the outpost, but it's not clear what for."

Cassian's frown deepened. "An outpost that close to our borders? He's planning something."

Aurora stepped forward, her heart pounding. "What if it's the weapon your scout overheard them talking about?"

The room fell silent as the implications sank in.

"We can't ignore this," Nathan said. "If they're moving something dangerous, we need to stop it now."

Cassian nodded, his expression grim. "Gather a team. We move at first light."
