but constant, as if responding to her growing unease.

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the pack grounds as the wolves prepared for night patrols. Aurora sat by the cottage window, her hands resting protectively over her abdomen. The twins had been more active today, their movements gentle Lila entered the room, carrying a steaming cup of tea. "It's chamomile," she said softly. "It'll help you relax."

Aurora took the cup with a grateful smile, though she didn't drink right away. "Do you think he's really out there?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Lila sat beside her, her expression calm but serious. "If Fenrir is near, it's because he knows you're here. But Cassian's pack is strong, Aurora. They won't let him take you without a fight."

Aurora's chest tightened at the thought of Cassian risking himself for her. "I don't want this," she whispered. "I don't want them to suffer because of me."

"They won't see it that way," Lila said firmly. "You've earned their respect, whether you realize it or not. This pack doesn't just protect its own-they fight for them."

Aurora nodded, though her heart still felt heavy.noveldrama

At the northern border, Cassian stood with Nathan and a group of senior wolves, their eyes scanning the dark forest. The scent of strangers hung in the air, faint but unmistakable. "They're holding their position," Nathan said, his voice low.

"For now," Cassian replied. "But it won't last. Fenrir isn't the type to sit back and wait."

Nathan hesitated. "If he crosses the border, it won't just be about Aurora. This could escalate into a full-blown conflict."

Cassian's jaw tightened, his gaze fixed on the trees. "Then we'll be ready."

The tension was palpable as the patrols moved out, their movements precise and coordinated. Cassian watched them disappear into the shadows, his mind racing.

He had faced countless threats to his pack before, but this was different. This was personal.

Arianna crouched in the underbrush near the pack's southern border, her sharp eyes scanning the terrain. The forest was quiet, the patrols focused on the northern perimeter where Fenrir's group lingered. It was the perfect opening.

She glanced at the disgruntled wolf standing beside her a young male she had bribed with promises of power and status. He shifted nervously, his eyes darting around the clearing.

"Are you sure about this?" he asked.

Arianna smirked. "Don't lose your nerve now. Just lead me to her cottage, and you'll get what I promised."

The wolf hesitated but eventually nodded, leading her deeper into Cassian's territory.

Arianna's heart raced as they approached the pack's central grounds. She could almost taste her victory. Aurora had escaped once, but this time there would be no sanctuary.
