No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Lucas' words were filled with anger, causing Isaac to tremble in fear. Could Noelle come from some sort of strong background? "Lucas, what happened?" Xenia walked over at this moment.

Lucas cursed at Isaac, "This bastard tried to hit someone in the company. Fire him immediately."

Isaac panicked. "It's not my fault! She hit me first. I was just defending myself!"

Xenia, who was acting innocent, said, "But she's just a woman. You shouldn't be so petty as a man."

He didn't dare to argue, especially since Lucas supported Noelle. He wasn't sure of their relationship.

Xenia tugged at Lucas' sleeve and whispered, "You shouldn't be so hasty when firing someone. This is a company."

He instinctively glanced at Noelle and replied stiffly, "What do you think?"noveldrama

Noelle's expression remained indifferent. "I don't care."

She grabbed her bag and walked out.

Lucas was furious. "What's with her attitude?"

He had just stepped in to help, and she didn't even appreciate it. She was truly an ungrateful person.

Xenia sneered inwardly. Noelle had been hurt by Lucas so badly before; only a fool would forgive that easily. But this was a good thing for her.

She said, "She's always like this. Lucas, you've known her for so long. Let's go talk outside."

She didn't want the staff to learn that Noelle was actually the heiress of the Liddell family. If that happened, how would she stand in the company?

Since Noelle didn't want that identity, she would take it. When Noelle arrived at the office the next day, she noticed that many people were watching her.

She knew it was because of yesterday's incident. But she could take her pay and leave once she finished testing the software today.

As soon as Noelle sat down, a female colleague came over. "So, what's your relationship with Mr. Liddell?"

"Nothing much."

"I don't believe it. If there was really no relationship, why would he defend you like that yesterday? Isaac was almost scared to death."

What happened yesterday had spread throughout the office. It turned out the newcomer engineer had some connections after all, It was no wonder she could pass the HR Screening at such a young age.

Noelle looked at her computer screen without changing her expression, not responding to her colleague's question. The colleague had no choice but to drop the subject and leave it alone.

Soon after, Isaac came into the office, but this time, he wasn't as arrogant as before. When he saw Noelle, he wore a stiff expression and dared not do anything further. What if Lucas stepped in again if he pissed her off?

The office fell into an eerie silence.

Before long, Bobby came to the IT department. "You all need to meet to discuss fixing the firewall issue. Mr. Liddell will be coming to inspect the work, so everyone needs to think of a solution." en

"There's no need to discuss. I've already written the code to patch the vulnerabilities. We can test it right now."

Isaac sneered. "You finished that quickly? Who are you trying to fool?"

He was furious but didn't dare to make a move. Instead, he grumbled, "Fine. Go ahead and test it. If it doesn't pass, you can leave!"

She grabbed her USB drive, copied the code, and went to the server room to begin the testing.
