Unforgettable love

Chapter 25

Chapter 25:.

Dolores stopped at the sight of them and Beulah raised her eyebrows as well.

“Mom, isn’t that Dolores, why is she here?” Annabelle wasn’t able to suppress her anger as well as Beulah, “She’s here to eat?”.

The food here was delicious, expensive, and it wasn’t a place for normal people to dine. How could Dolores dine in this place?

Beulah scoffed, “She married into the Nelson Family. Although that person is a cripple, her social status and wealth are genuine. It shouldn’t be surprising that she might frequent these kinds of places.”

Dolores didn’t want to tangle with them and wanted to walk away but Annabelle blocked her way.

“You just married a cripple. Even if you can come to this high-class establishment, you’re nothing but an unpresentable.” She looked Dolores’ dress up and down as she said and laughed sarcastically.

“Get out of the way!” Dolores said coldly.

Annabelle didn’t, “What’s the hurry, are you ashamed to marry a cripple?”

Abbott frowned and was about to respond to Annabelle’s blocking of Dolores’ path when he saw Matthew approach and quickly withdrew his hand.

“Dolores, why are you still so sleazy after marrying into that rich family, is it because even that cripple despises you?” Annabelle laughed sinisterly as she said, “Don’t follow in the footsteps of your mother, who can’t even keep her man with her.”

At that moment, Dolores also saw Matthew approach and couldn’t help but stare wide-eyed.

Annabelle noticed the change in Dolores’ expression and thought she was angry and escalated, “Dolores, this is your fate. You were abandoned by your father in the first half of your life and left abroad to fend for yourself. Now you have to serve a cripple for the rest of your life, enduring a life of burden…”

“I’m afraid I have to disappoint you.” A deep, manly voice was heard. It was soft and impressive, but not to be underestimated.

“Who do you think you are…?” Annabelle turned and saw a man standing nearby. He wore a well-fitting business suit. He stood erect, especially the pair of slender, long legs. He wore his head high and his lips were sensuous with a chiseled, elegant look. His eyes were deep-set, haughty and cool.

He walked steadily and, with every step, chilled the hearts of those who watched him. His indifference and deep silence highlighted his nobility. He approached with a sacred aura that dazzled the sight of all. Annabelle’s jaw dropped open in surprise.

He’s not a cripple? She was stunned and incredulous. How could this be possible?

Under Annabelle and Beulah’s judging gaze, she placed her arm around Dolores’ shoulders, “Come on.”

Dolores was stunned for a couple of seconds and looked up, “You…”.

Her gaze deepened slightly and she smiled fondly, “What’s wrong, silly?”

Annabelle stared at her legs until her eyes were about to pop out of their sockets, “Aren’t you crippled?”

She covered her mouth after she said that she seemed to realize she had misspoken. Beulah was stunned as well. It was unbelievable.

Matthew felt disgusted and left with Dolores.

Abbott scoffed, “Superficial.” And from then on he didn’t look at her stunned, hateful expressions. He walked quickly to the car.

Beulah looked at him with surprise and fear and her legs began to wobble, “How can that be, isn’t Matthew crippled?”

“What happened?” Annabelle lost her self-control and grabbed Beulah’s arm,

“Why aren’t Matthew’s legs crippled?”

Beulah came to her senses after a while. Weren’t his legs incapable of being treated?

“Mom…”

“Stop it!” Beulah felt her mind rumbling with noise and became frustrated, “I wonder if your father knows about this.”

They lost their appetite after learning that Matthew was not crippled and went to the Flores Group together.

Randolph was filled with anger. The property the Flores Group had invested in had collapsed and now the company was being sued. Randolph was frowning deeply.

Knock, knock…

Randolph was about to fly into a rage at whoever dared to upset him. Just as he was about to shout, the door opened and Beulah walked in. As soon as she saw Randolph’s grim expression, her heart leapt and she asked, “What’s the matter with you?”

Beulah didn’t care what was bothering Randolph and said as she approached, “You know Matthew can stand up?”

Randolph was puzzled and then frowned and looked at Beulah, “He was bitten by a venomous snake. Wasn’t he diagnosed as incurable? How could he get back on his feet?”

Admittedly, Randolph didn’t know either. Beulah’s expression turned serious: “He can stand up…”

“Who did you hear from?” Beulah was interrupted by Randolph before she could finish.

“We saw it ourselves.” Annabelle was quick to reply. She had calmed down and turned to Randolph, “Father, they must have tricked us.”

It had been clearly determined earlier that she was incurable, so how was she able to get up now? Randolph frowned, as this really startled him and he was puzzled. “But why did you spread the news that he wasn’t able to stand up?”noveldrama

Beulah could not determine the reason why he sent this signal and guessed, “Could it be that he was dissatisfied with the marriage agreement with the Flores Family and so he spread that news so that we would break up the marriage instead of him?”

The whole office went so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

“That must be it. What else could it be?” Annabelle agreed with Beulah’s conjecture and sat down on the couch in frustration, “If we had known sooner, we wouldn’t need Dolores back. And she could marry Matthew.

Randolph was also upset and this matter was beyond him.

At first, he wanted to use his daughter to cement his relationship with the Nelson family. If it really was as Beulah claimed, by marrying his daughter to him, not only did he fail to please Matthew, he ended up antagonizing him.

Now that the company was having some difficulties, he wanted to look to Matthew for help, but he couldn’t seem to do that now. Randolph was deep in thought. No wonder Matthew refused to meet with him when he went to the WY Tower to look for him.

“Mom.” Annabelle gripped Beulah’s arm tightly. “Mom, why didn’t I marry Matthew?”

He was the first man she liked. She had the chance to marry him but now she had lost that chance. She regretted it so much that she turned green with envy. If she hadn’t minded that Matthew was a cripple and had married him, then he might have loved her for accepting him as a cripple.

But now all this was being given to Dolores and she couldn’t accept the reality of it!

“We should carefully consider our next moves now that things are as they are.” Beulah was also upset that they had missed an opportunity to forge a closer relationship with the Nelson family.

Randolph felt a pounding headache and felt helpless that things had turned out this way. Why was Matthew pretending to be crippled?

At the other end, Dolores climbed into the car with Matthew and sat quietly beside him.

Matthew looked very busy. He was looking at the papers on his lap and adjusting his shirt collar. Dolores kept quiet and didn’t bother him.

When they were almost to the WY Tower, Dolores asked him to stop the car.

“Do you have anything on?”

“It’s not good for me to come in with you.” She knew that her marriage to Matthew was not to be made public. This would avoid any misunderstanding.

Now her actions began to puzzle Abbott. In the past, she was negatively affecting Matthew’s reputation but now?

Dolores got out of the car and Abbott drove to the subway garage.

Matthew got out of the car and entered the elevator with Abbott following close behind. The latter was very curious about Matthew’s feelings for Dolores and asked, “Mr. Nelson, do you prefer Miss Flores or Miss White?”
